Description
Manuscript letter from Kernoff at 13 Stamer Street, Dublin 8 (Ireland) to White (10th Director of the National Gallery of Ireland) in green ink on the back of a reproduction woodcut titled "Leprechaun" by Kernoff regarding an exhibition of Kernoff's paintings of prominent Irish writers, actors, and painters "from 'James Joyce to Brendan Behan'." Kernoff explains that he does not wish to see the set broken up, and offers them all to the National Gallery of Ireland for the sum of one thousand pounds. An attached list details the subjects of the paintings including James Joyce, Jimmy O'Dea, W.B. Yeats, Jack Yeats, Hilton Edwards, Michael McLiamoir [sic.], Seán O'Casey, Brinsley MacNamara, A.E. Russell, and Éamon de Valera among others (36 total).
