Letter from Roderic O’Conor to Renée Honta

Handwritten letter in French in which O’Conor relates that the streets of Paris are being demolished and the sound of the hammer is every where. No word of [J.Milner Kite] but [Robert Root] and [Gabriel Thompson] are leaving by car. [Ortiz de Zarate] is leaving for Saint Tropez today ‘He touched me for the journey in exchange for a landscape…of Charenton, which is not ugly.’ It is a long time since he ‘touched a paintbrush’. Suggests Honta might go as far as Tours and see [Walter Cranfield] there.
