Description
Typescript letter on headed paper, addressed from the Irish Department of Posts and Telegraphs, to Mrs. Orpen Casey of Suffolk, United Kingdom. Lally (Secretary, Stamp Design Advisory Committee) thanks Orpen Casey for her kind remarks concerning the published stamp, and includes a sample for her records. The letter also makes reference to the artist Erik van der Grijn, to whom Lally has forwarded a letter on Orpen Casey's behalf. Van der Grijn designed the stamp based on the original 'Self Portrait' by Orpen. [Stamps not enclosed]
