Letter from James Joyce to Alfred Bergan sending season's greetings
Description
Handwritten letter, addressed from Paris, in which Joyce sends good wishes for the season, and updates Bergan with news of his work, and shared acquaintances. Letter is accompanied by an envelope, postmarked from Paris, and addressed to Bergan at 4 Clare Street, Dublin. [Bergan was one of Joyce’s closest friends and is mentioned in the Cyclops episode in Ulysses: ‘Little Alf Bergan popped in round the door and hid behind Barney’s snug, squeezed up with the laughing’.]
