Description
Manuscript letter from Kernoff at 13 Stamer Street, Portobello, Dublin 8 (Ireland) to White (10th Director of the National Gallery of Ireland) in blue ink on the back of a reproduction woodcut titled "Leprechaun" by Kernoff regarding his collection of portraits, "all by the one man, [and] make a unique collection [and] by tha man who is of their period, too." An attached list written on the back of a printed poem by Kernoff titled "After an exhibition of abstract and subjective art" details the subjects of the paintings including James Joyce, Jimmy O'Dea, W.B. Yeats, Jack Yeats, Hilton Edwards, Michael McLiammoir, Seán O'Casey, Brendan Behan, a self portrait, George Russell (AE), and James Stephens among others (42 total).
