Description
First edition soft-bound volume (limited to 100 copies) in French of "Louise C. Breslau" by Arsène Alexandre as part of the series "Maitres de l'Art Moderne" published by Les Éditions Reider, 7 Place Saint-Sulpice, Paris. Handwritten inscription in ink from Breslau's partner French artist Madeleine Zillhardt on first page "à Sarah Purser / à la plus vieille et la plus fidele amie de L. Cath. Breslau ce premier exemplaire. Mad[eleine] Zillhardt, 27 avril 1928." (Translation: "To Sarah Purser / To the oldest and most faithful friend of L. Cath. Breslau this first (edition/copy). Mad[eleine] Zillhardt, 27 April 1928"). Pencil inscription below Zillhardt's inscription reads "Presented Mary Swanzy 1977."Includes 64 printed pages and 60 heliogravure prints of works by Breslau.
