Handwritten inscription in ink from Breslau's partner French artist Madeleine Zillhardt on first page "à Sarah Purser / à la plus vieille et la plus fidele amie de L. Cath. Breslau ce premier exemplaire. Mad[eleine] Zillhardt, 27 avril 1928." (Translation: "To Sarah Purser / To the oldest and most faithful friend of L. Cath. Breslau this first (edition/copy).
