Description
Manuscript letter from George Petrie at 7 Charlemount Place, Dublin, Ireland to Frederic William Burton in which he describes a journey to the Aran Islands he undertook with William Stokes amongst others and laments the fact that Burton was not with them. He writes that he “saw so much that would have given you delight” and he describes the pictures he saw. He also goes into detail about the wonderful landscape on the road to Galway and asks Burton how his eyes are as they were previously sore. Throughout the letter Petrie expresses his continuing affection for Burton.
