Description
Letter from Gregory at The Pavilion, Kandy, Sri Lanka to Burton asking Burton to send him through the Colonial Office "the parliamentary paper defining the duties [and] position of the Trustee[s], Director, [and] Keeper of the National Gallery." Gregory relates that the papers have spoken highly of Burton's purchases for the Gallery including a work by Andrea Solari. Gregory is certain that [Benjamin] Disraeli will restore the Gallery's annual budget to its former amount of [£18,000]. Includes a print copy of "The Blind Girl at the Holy Well" by Burton and a picture labelled "Olive Burton" dated 1901.
