Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 5th June 1964 in which the following is discussed: the procedure for taking photographs in the Gallery was discussed further. The Upper Austrian Government requested the loan of a painting from the Gallery, which was granted. A letter was received from the Friends of the National Collections regarding pictures given to the Gallery from them, which they now requested be given on loan to the Municipal Gallery for an exhibition, which was granted. The purchase of a portrait of Lord Charlemont by M.F. Quadal was approved [NGI 1763]."About to write a letter" by Jack B. Yeats was also approved for purchase [NGI 1766]. The Director proposed an exhibition to celebrate 100 years of The National Gallery, which was approved. The Shaw and Lane Funds were discussed.
