Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 1st October 1947 in which the following was discussed: the Director submitted further correspondence in connection with the Hone bequest. The purchase of a picture "Peasant Boy with Cattle" was declined. "Lear and Cordelia" by James Barry was also declined for purchase. A gift from Jack B. Yeats of "Portrait of Jack B. Yeats as a Boy" by his father, John Butler Yeats, was accepted [NGI 1142]. The Director was instructed to consult with the British Board of Trade about sending pictures to and receiving pictures from the UK. The Director reported on the credit of the Lane Fund.
