Description
Minutes of a board meeting held on 7th July 1926 in which the following was discussed: a letter was received from Lady Hemphill requesting the loan of pictures in the Edward Martyn collection that are not being hung in the Gallery at present, however her requets was denied as these are currently on loan to the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art. A letter was received in regards to investments held in the Gallery's name through the Lane Fund. Permission was given for the closing of the Gallery for the month of October for cleaning and rehanging. A portrait of Mrs Ashcroft by Walter Osborne was accepted (NGI 875). Four etchings by Percy Gethin were gifted to the Gallery by F.V. Burridge through Miss Sarah Purser [NGI 11428, NGI11429, NGI 11480, NGI 11619]. Miss Sarah Purser was appointed judge for the Taylor Art Competition. A letter was drafted to be sent to the Department of Finance regarding a pay increase for a Gallery attendant, Michael Kaye.
