Description
Typescript letter from Harry Clarke to Thomas Bodkin informing Bodkin that he has accepted Membership to the National Academy, saying that he decided so because of the "miserable whine of the R[oyal] I[rish] A[cademy] who only touched me with a forty foot pole when they knew another body had admitted me to membership." Clarke states that he is very sorry that Bodkin is not a member as well, as "a few more fellows with 'punk' [might] have kept out the stuffed ones and raised hell for the stuffy sickly crowds at the Arts & Crafts and the RHA."
