Transcribed letter from Bernard Mulrenin to Mary Mulrenin regarding his work in London
Description
Transcribed typescript copy of a letter from Bernard Mulrenin, addressed from Peele's Coffee House, 177 Fleet Street, London to his wife Mary in Dublin. Mulrenin describes the crowds, pageants, and processions in London for the coronation of King William IV. "All of the windows, balconies and even the tops of the houses were literally covered with 'dandies and dandizets'." Mulrenin also describes his work. He has seen the Countess of Cork who has given him miniatures of her children to copy for Lord Dungarvan. Mulrenin also describes his meetings with William Berney and Mr. Cuming, and concludes with a story of how he was mistaken for a Frenchman.
